Our notecards are printed on chlorine-free, 100%
post-consumer recycled cardstock by a family-owned printing
business. The wood fiber used to manufacture our
cardstock comes from responsibly-managed forests certified
by the Forest Stewardship Council. New for
Fall 2007 ~ our cardstock and envelopes are now carbon
neutral and produced using Green-e certified power!

packaging
We try very hard
to minimize the environmental impacts of our shipping
activities. Several of our mailers contain 100% recycled
paper and 10% or more recycled plastics, and we reuse packing
materials whenever possible. We ship all
orders via the U.S. Postal Service. In addition to fast,
reliable service, USPS delivers many packages as part of a
regular carrier route. We hope that this will reduce the
overall fossil fuel consumption of our shipping activities. |

power
All of the
electricity used to power our business comes from 100%
renewable sources. At present, we purchase 80% hydropower
and 20% wind power from Maine Renewable Energy, LLC. We actively seek out
business partners with the same environmental commitment.

philanthropy
Each year, we donate 10% of our net profits to an
environmental non-profit organization with a mission that we
support. Our 2007 recipient was
Fields Pond Audubon Center in Holden, ME.
